Most people have probably heard of the attack on electrical substations in Moore County, NC. For those who don’t, here is a summary.
Widespread power outages caused by vandalism of electrical substations in Moore County continued on Monday, with electricity shut off to thousands of residences and businesses, and estimates for restoration of power stretching possibly into Thursday, officials say. The outages are the result of intentional damage by firearms to two substations in the county, according to Moore County and Duke Energy officials.

Now, what this article and many like it leaves out is that a drag show was going on in this city at the same time the power went out. Before the drag show, the local conservative community rose up in a furor with massive calls for it to be canceled, threats to the organizers, and protests. This coincides with vandalism at other drag show locations and armed protesters intimidating those going. The fact that there is so much fear and violence being stoked
Emily Grace Rainey, a former U.S. Army psychological operations officer who led a group to a rally in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021, said deputies questioned her about mass power outages in North Carolina after she posted on social media that she knew why they occurred.

Apparently, they haven’t found any other evidence implicating her besides her known hostility to drag, and suspicious posts. However, she is familiar with the sheriff, so I’m not ready to release her from all suspicion yet, especially considering her background as a psyop officer. She has the knowledge and possibly experiences to organize something like this. Or have others do it/know those who did. Especially given the large number of both current and former spec-ops that live in Moore County due to it being close to major military bases.

While it isn’t direct evidence of any sort of right-wing domestic terror attack here in Moore County, extreme right-wingers have planned attacks like this before.
These three defendants admitted to engaging in a disturbing plot, in furtherance of white supremacist ideology, to attack energy facilities in order to damage the economy and stoke division in our country,” said Assistant Attorney General for National Security Matthew G. Olsen. “The Justice Department is committed to investigating and disrupting such terrorist plots and holding perpetrators accountable for their crimes.”

The atmosphere in America right now is tense, and only getting tenser. We have seen two major shootings spawn from right-wing ideologies this year, multiple nazi marches, violent protests, hate crimes, vandalism, and now a potential attack on critical national infrastructure. As long as people are made to hate and fear one another this kind of thing will only accelerate and grow on itself.
